Fiddle Camp
July 14 - 18 • Half-Day

Teaching artist and SMS science teacher Melissa Stolasz will lead this half-day music camp open to players who have some experience on the fiddle and can play a few tunes. Instruction will include two music sessions each morning. Campers will learn new techniques on the fiddle, work on their bowing game and learn some great new tunes. Open to Outlaw Strings fiddle players and other fiddle players in the region.

Embroidery is for Everyone
July 14 - 18 • Half-Day

In this camp led by Amy Dart, campers will develop technical skills by gaining proficiency in fundamental and advanced embroidery techniques, including running stitch, backstitch, satin stitch, French knots, and more. While building problem-solving skills through design challenges and troubleshooting embroidery techniques, campers will also reflect on the role of traditional arts in modern artistic expression.

The String Lab
July 21 - 25 • Half-Day

This camp is open to players with limited experience on their chosen acoustic, stringed instrument but looking to move forward in their musical journey. Mandolin player and bandleader in the Moon Mountain Ramblers, instructor at Cascade School of Music and String Theory Music School in Bend, and teaching artist Joe Schulte will lead the course. Schulte will provide songs that can be played with the most basic common chords and short, easy-to-learn melodies to memorize.

We're proud to offer partial scholarships to qualifying families to ensure no child is prevented from participating due to financial barriers. This tuition support is available through the SFF Presents scholarship fund, which provides scholarships for graduating Sisters High School seniors and enables pay what you can access to many of our programs. Scholarships can be requested during registration.

Brushstrokes & Beyond: Exploring Painting Techniques
July 21 - 25 • Half-Day

In this exciting art camp, participants will dive into the world of painting, exploring a wide range of techniques and styles. Instructor Judy Fuentes will lead participants to experiment with watercolors, acrylics, and mixed media, and discover how to create texture, depth, and movement on canvas. Students will learn everything from basic brushstrokes to more advanced techniques like layering, glazing, and creating texture. This class encourages creative exploration, giving students the freedom to experiment with different materials while developing their unique painting style. By the end of the week, students will display their collection of paintings for family and friends!

Adventures on Guitar
July 28 - Aug 1 • Half-Day

This half-day camp will be tailored to the skills of the individual campers and will focus on rhythm and strumming, chord progressions, and just learning fun tunes. Lifelong musician and Cascade School of Music teacher Sandy Peevers will lead the camp and help students explore both melody and chordal backup, and develop a diverse musical repertoire. This is not a course for those that are absolutely new to the guitar. Campers should be comfortable with hand/finger placement for their guitar and know the very basics of strumming and chords. Come with 2 - 3 songs in mind and the group will collectively decide on which to learn.

Wild Wonders: 3D Art
July 28 - Aug 1 • Half-Day

Get ready for a week of creative adventure with Judy Fuentes! Students will explore the world of 3D art by creating one-of-a-kind sculptures using cardboard and found objects. First by diving into Louise Nevelson's iconic relief sculptures, where students will gather recycled materials and transform them into textured, layered masterpieces, just like Nevelson’s art. Next, by looking at Franz Marc's vibrant animal paintings, practicing how to draw animals in motion using bold shapes and colors. Students will then bring their animal drawings to life, turning them into relief sculptures inspired by Marc’s playful use of color and form.
On Friday there will be a showcase of the week's work for family and friends.

Curtain Up! Theater
Aug 4 - 8 • Half-Day

Taught collaboratively by teaching artists Steven and Jayana Livingston, this camp is for student thespians with varying levels of experience. The group will be split to cover theater basics: stage direction, crafting characters, and performing a monologue, with a more experienced group exploring deeper character work and script annotating. Campers will combine with the afternoon group for a performance on Friday.

Next Act! Advanced Theater
Aug 4 - 8 • Half-Day

For students who have participated in the theater camp before or have similar theater experience, the Livingstons will offer this advanced course. The camp will expand on student thespians’ basic theater skills with deeper character work, script annotating, and performing a monologue. Campers will combine with the beginner group for a performance on Friday afternoon.

Beginner Ukulele: You Too
Can Uke!
Aug 11 - 15 • Half-Day

Discovering how fun it is to play the ukulele! A camp for beginner / novice players. The ukulele is simple, easy on the fingers, and quick to learn to play. In this camp, instructor Sandy Peevers will cover basic chords and strumming patterns. Campers will learn several tunes and songs, sing along while playing, and develop pieces for a small performance.
Campers are welcome to bring their own ukulele or SFFP can provide a uke for the duration of camp.

Everyone Can Paint: Adventures in Nature
Aug 11 - 15 • Half-Day

Led by Amy Dart, this camp will empower students to foster confidence and self-expression through creativity. Participants will design and implement their own works of art inspired by the natural world. Using acrylic paints on canvas, students will transform their visions into vibrant artistic expressions. The camp will include exploratory activities, such as nature walks (onsite or nearby), and online research to discover subjects that inspire them. Students will learn foundational art skills, from sketching their ideas to mastering painting techniques, as they bring their unique perspectives to life.

Build a Band: Advanced Strings
Aug 18 - 22 • Full-Day

Led by Joe Schulte, this camp is open to players who are very comfortable on their acoustic stringed instrument and are fluid in the common major and minor chords found in popular music. Campers should be playing their instrument(s) several times a week and be looking to take on new challenges such as songwriting and ensemble work. Throughout the week, campers will break into small groups to work on custom song arrangement, individual solos, harmonies and improvisation. Acoustic stringed instruments only. Campers must bring their own instruments and spare strings.
